Faculty recipients of the Digital Pedagogy Fellowship gathered in Neilson Library for the first annual Digital Pedagogy Institute on August 1 through 3. The cohort will continue meeting during fall semester to develop digital scholarship projects for their courses.

The Digital Pedagogy Fellowship program provides support for Smith faculty who are seeking to incorporate technology into their teaching and create innovative digital scholarship with their students. Faculty will be partnering with ITS and Libraries staff during the Fall 2022 semester to design and create new class activities and research projects that utilize the digital innovation spaces in Neilson library, as well as other technology resources across campus.

The Institute provided opportunities for faculty to consult with staff on a range of topics, including how to design video and podcast projects, web development, mapping and GIS, and visualization tools for digital scholarship. Faculty will be sharing their experiences about teaching and learning with technology at the conclusion of the program in early 2023.

The Digital Pedagogy Fellowship is funded by ITS and the Committee on Educational Technology. Additional support is provided by Smith College Libraries.
