The Friends of the Smith College Libraries bring together alums, families, faculty, staff, students, and others who believe that exceptional libraries are essential to teaching, learning, research, and discovery.

Since 1942, the Friends have provided valuable support that allows the Libraries to respond to emerging needs, strengthen collections and services, and create opportunities that extend beyond the regular operating budget.

From the Dean

The Friends of the Smith College Libraries have long provided the flexible support that allows the Libraries to respond to emerging needs and pursue opportunities beyond the regular operating budget. Their generosity strengthens collections, supports students and staff, expands access to knowledge, and helps us imagine what the Libraries can become.

As Smith advances the goals of Compass 2035, the Libraries will remain central to teaching, learning, research, and discovery. I am deeply grateful to the Friends for their partnership and invite all who value the Libraries to join us in supporting this work.
