Hillyer Art Library

Campus Libraries are open to Smith students, faculty and staff who are in the campus COVID-19 screening program. Emeriti faculty, Five College students who are registered for a Smith course, and Smith research affiliates are also welcomed. Please note that an active OneCard is required for access to either swipe in or to show upon entry. Contact with questions about obtaining or activating a OneCard. Masks continue to be required in all indoor shared spaces.

Hillyer Art LibraryThe Hillyer Art Library serves the Smith community by providing collections with broad-based coverage of the history, theory, criticism, and practice of the visual arts to support the teaching, research, and art practices of Smith students, faculty, and staff. Drawing on a long tradition of active collection development, areas of notable strength are the art and architecture of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, the ancient Mediterranean, East Asia, and South Asia.

  • Individual study carrels are available on the 1st and 2nd floors
  • Large study tables are available on the 1st and 2nd floors
  • Space on the cellar level is available with seating and a whiteboard for individual or small group study
  • Hillyer 119 classroom
