Strengthen the Smith College Libraries
Friends membership supports the collections, services, programs, and learning opportunities that help the Smith College Libraries advance teaching, research, and discovery.
Membership is open to alums, families, faculty, staff, students, and all who value the Libraries. Gifts at every level provide flexible support that helps the Libraries respond to emerging needs and pursue opportunities beyond the regular operating budget.

Levels of Giving
Choose the level that is right for you:
- Patron: $1,000
- Benefactor: $500
- Sustainer: $250
- Contributor: $100
- Supporter: $60
- Recent alum, within five years of graduation: $25
- Current Smith students: Free
Every gift makes a difference. Membership gifts are tax-deductible and count toward your class giving goal.
Benefits of Membership
Friends members receive:
- A subscription to the Libraries’ e-newsletter
- Invitations to lectures, webinars, and other events
- Recognition in the Libraries’ annual list of donors
- Smith College Libraries bookmarks and other tokens of appreciation
Members who give $250 or more may have a bookplate placed in a book in their honor or in memory of someone special.
The Friends also underwrite JSTOR access for all Smith alums. Additional library databases are available through the The Smith College Network.

Make a monthly gift
Monthly giving is a convenient way to provide support throughout the year. Select the recurring-gift option on the online giving form, or contact Gift Accounting at giftaccounting@smith.edu or 800-526-2023, option 5.
Make a Multi-Year Pledge
Support the Friends for two or more years at any giving level to become a member of the Oculus Society. When using the online giving form, enter your pledge details in the Special Instructions box.
Matching Gifts
Many employers match charitable contributions made by employees and retirees. A matching gift may double or even triple the impact of your support.
Contact your employer’s Human Resources office to learn whether your gift is eligible.
Join All Four Friends Groups
The Friends of Smith College share a commitment to learning and engagement beyond the classroom.
Join the Friends of Athletics, Botanic Garden, Libraries, and Museum of Art together at the Contributor level and receive a 20 percent discount on your combined membership.
