Assistant Professor of Chemistry Alexandra Strom

For this month’s What Am I Reading in ScholarWorks? I am very pleased to announce the publication of a Smith Open Educational Resource (OER) adaptation from Assistant Chemistry Professor Alexandra Strom.

Advanced General Chemistry was adapted by Strom through a Smith Library OER initiative grant and was created for Strom’s CHM 118 course. Of course the fact that OER are free is of tremendous importance to Smith students and scholars across the globe. But the fact that OER have open licensing is what makes them truly exciting from a pedagogical perspective. These learning materials can be adapted to be more relevant, inclusive, and accessible.

Discover resources that hundreds of thousands of people have already downloaded. This is truly Smith in the world, contributing to the global scholarly commons and the common good.
