Jessica Ryan, Scholarly Communications Librarian, highlights an item in ScholarWorks each month.

Well, it’s Women’s History Month, so of course I am reading the prodigious and vital work of SWAG professor, Carrie Baker. Her latest addition to ScholarWorks is a fascinating history of medication abortion, History and Politics of Medication Abortion in the United States and the Rise of Telemedicine and Self-Managed Abortion. Why a pill developed over thirty years ago in France took so long to come into wide use in the U.S. and how the pandemic and abortion opponents may have been instrumental in that progress. The timeliness and importance of this politically historic account is something we at ScholarWorks have come to expect from Professor Baker, so this month, what a pleasure it is to direct your attention to her work!
