Now that the weather is getting warmer, many of us will feel the urge to get out and exercise, or, if you’re like me, get out and sit in the grass to read. For this month’s What Am I Reading in ScholarWorks? let’s split the difference and read about exercise!

Exercise and Sports Studies Professor, Sarah Witkowski’s research into how women bore the pandemic in terms of physical activity and stress is illuminating as it gestures towards our complicated responses to a pretty terrible collective event that disproportionately impacted women. “A Comparison of Stress, Symptoms, Physical Activity, and Adiposity Among Women at Midlife Before and During the Pandemic” drew from a larger study and, like all good research, had interesting and unexpected results.
