Nellie Lothian

Nellie Lothian ‘26

Tell us your Smith College Libraries Story.

I started in Special Collections the summer after my sophomore year. Working full time, I really got to know the collections and staff, and I loved being immersed in the materials. I was lucky enough to work full time last summer too and explore Northampton in the lovely summer weather. At the archive, I really enjoy interacting with researchers and learning about all the cool stuff people are finding and learning! The staff, students, and visitors are the best part of the job by far.

Outside of the Libraries, what are your interests and hobbies?

I like watching TV with my roommates, bothering my cat, and playing Scrabble.

What is next for you after graduating from Smith?

Oh no! Don't ask that!

If you could impart one piece of advice to incoming first year students, what would it be?

Clean your water bottle frequently and thoroughly.
