Laney McDonough

Laney McDonough ‘26

Tell us your Smith College Libraries Story.

I have always loved reading and going to public libraries. Hillyer stood out because of its unique location in the Art Museum, which brings in a great mixture of people from Smith and the Northampton community. I've really enjoyed the people I've met through this position.

Outside of the Libraries, what are your interests and hobbies?

I played rugby all four years at Smith and I'm the current president of the club! I like to roller skate, read, and swim, too.

What is next for you after graduating from Smith?

I will be working towards a Master in Public Health after Smith!

If you could impart one piece of advice to incoming first year students, what would it be?

Try everything - don't put yourself into a box of what you want to study or what you want to be! This is the time to explore and try new things.
