Tell us your Smith College Libraries Story.

I worked in my town's public library in high school and loved it, so when I got to Smith I wanted to continue working in a library. I started working at Josten in part because I enjoy folk song and dance and wanted to be in a space that aligned with my interests. Since then, Josten has become a second home to me - I work here, study here, and I've even done job interviews in the listening rooms! I'm really grateful for the community of people at Josten, inside and outside of the library. I plan to work in museums in the future and Josten has been a wonderful place to engage with the public and connect people to information.

Outside of the Libraries, what are your interests and hobbies?

I enjoy knitting, sewing, reading essays, and sacred harp singing, which I was introduced to through Josten!

What is next for you after graduating from Smith?

I'm applying to jobs in museums/historic preservation, but nothing certain yet!

If you could impart one piece of advice to incoming first year students, what would it be?

Go to events, talk to people, learn something new - there are many, many people here who are so passionate about what they do (for work or for fun!) and will be excited to help you get involved!
