Tell us your Smith College Libraries Story.

During my first year at Smith, I began working at Forbes Library as a Borrower Services assistant. That job is where I found my love for libraries, seeing first-hand how crucial a resource they are for the community. I really appreciated getting the chance to know and work with the people of Northampton. After studying abroad in Budapest, I transitioned to Neilson Library, wanting to get a feel for an academic library. The staff here are incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, and working alongside them has taught me so much. I'm so grateful for my time here, it gave me the final push I needed to apply to grad school for library science.

Outside of the Libraries, what are your interests and hobbies?

Art museums, music, curating, and pop culture.

What is next for you after graduating from Smith?

This summer I am going to be one of the Alice Williams Carson 37' Endowed Curatorial Interns at the Toledo Museum of Art. I will be starting my Master of Science in Library Science in the fall at Pratt Institute.

If you could impart one piece of advice to incoming first year students, what would it be?

Don't settle on your dream job or major from the get go, take some time to explore and find out what you'll truly enjoy doing post-grad. I had no idea the job I took first year would influence my professional aspirations. I think it's so important to be open and try out new and interesting experiences, you never know where it can take you!
