Tell us your Smith College Libraries Story.

I remember as a first year being so in awe of the brand new Neilson Library, so the prospect of working there was very exciting. I really enjoy getting to interact with students, faculty, staff, and the greater community who use the library. I also love seeing what folks are reading or studying when I check materials in and out. While I am not sure I will be working in libraries in my future, this job provided me with a better understanding of how an institution of this size operates and the many people it requires to run smoothly.

Outside of the Libraries, what are your interests and hobbies?

I am a big animal and nature lover and I am especially interested in marine biology and conservation! I also love horror movies, swimming, and making really specific Spotify playlists. I am hoping to get a job in the ecology and conservation field, and maybe in a few years apply for Marine Biology PhD programs.

If you could impart one piece of advice to incoming first year students, what would it be?

Take advantage of all of the opportunities that Smith gives you while you're here! There are so many amazing classes, clubs, organizations, funding opportunities, study abroad programs, etc. that can come with your Smith education if you seek them out.
