Published March 9, 2026
MUS 240: QUEER POP is an exhibit and reserve shelf in support of the Spring 2026 class taught by Lauron Kehrer (Music). It is a physical book exhibit that complements the Visual Browse MUS 240: Queer Pop collection which includes links to Smith and Five College owned physical, e-books, and open-access books.
"Both artists and listeners use popular music to construct, perform, and assert their queer and trans identities...explore key moments in LGBTQ+ popular music history in the United States in the 20th and 21st centuries."
The physical exhibit will be up until April 18 (Smith Arts Day) but will continue to be accessible on the Josten Reserve Book shelf for the rest of the Spring 2026 semester. The Visual Browse MUS 240: Queer Pop collection will continue to be accessible online.
