Queer Clergy Trading Cards on Display in Special Collections

"Collect them all... Jesus did."
That's the tagline for Queer Clergy Trading Cards, a series meant to bring visibility and humor around queer, Christian clergy.
Creator and Smithie, Reverend Dr. Chris Davies '08, recently donated the collection to Smith College Special Collections, which is now on display on the third floor of Neilson Library. Davies created her first card in 2014 as a gift to a friend who needed cheering up; it was such a hit, she felt compelled to keep going.
"I wanted to make Queer Clergy feel like superheroes because it's hard," Rev. Davies says. "And here we are, changing the world... a lot of times in places where the world feels tilted just a bit against us."
