Published February 27, 2026

A recent article in the Paris Review by Sarah Bochicchio highlights postcards from Virginia Woolf to friends and family found in the Mortimer Rare Book Collection in Special Collections at Smith College. The article discusses Woolf’s use of postcards as an “unselfconscious act, a persona not quite public, a version of herself meant to be seen by one other person for a fleeting moment.”
