This semester, Neilson Library is partnering with the Spinelli Center for Quantitative Learning and the Spatial Analysis Lab to host a new workshop series aimed at improving critical data skills. This series will cover software and coding basics, as well as more advanced topics. Students, faculty, and staff are welcome!

A refresher course for the Python coding language, with a nod toward Python for data analysis.

Making maps with R

Working with the Spatial Analysis Lab, we want to demonstrate making maps or other spatial data visualizations with R.

Using APIs to get data

An introduction to using APIs to download and obtain data from various sources. We will cover APIs in both R and Python.

Web-scraping with BeautifulSoup
