The Library Research Mentors are back for the spring semester. This year’s cohort of students have majors, minors and concentrations that span across many areas of study at Smith College. While they enjoy supporting students in their own areas of study, they are all trained to support research across the college's disciplines.

Library Research Mentors work in the Neilson Library’s Learning Commons to provide research support to their peers, helping other students to find books on specific topics, locate peer-reviewed articles, format their citations and get setup with Zotero.

Library Research Mentors are available for drop-in hours:

  • Sunday-Thursday, 1-4 p.m. & 7-10 p.m.
  • Friday, 1-4 p.m.

The Research Mentors help ensure that research assistance is available during evenings and weekends; subject librarians are typically available for consultations and meetings between 10 a.m. - 5 p.m on weekdays.

The Neilson Library Learning Commons is a cross-departmental space that connects students to a number of academic support services, such as writing assistance and tutoring.
