Join us for Sylvia Plath: An American Icon, with biographer Heather Clark and Judith Raymo ʼ53 on November 1, 4:30 - 5:40 p.m. in the Carroll Room, Campus Center, Smith College, with a reception to follow.

This event celebrates Clark’s award-winning biography of Sylvia Plath, Red Comet, and the recent gift of Judith Raymo’s Plath Collection to Smith College. It also coincides with Sylvia Plath’s 90th birthday year (her birthday is October 27.) This one hour event will set Raymo and Clark together in conversation about Plath - in writing her life story and the manuscripts that she left behind after her death in 1963.

Signed copies of Red Comet: The Short Life and Blazing Art of Sylvia Plath by Heather Clark will be offered for sale at the event and can also be ordered online at Broadside Books.

The event is cosponsored by the Friends of the Smith College Libraries and Special Collections.

Accompanying Exhibition

Visitors are encouraged to view a pop-up exhibition, “Selections from the Judith G. Raymo Collection of Sylvia Plath at Smith College,” Neilson Library, 3rd floor. On view, October 31 - November 24.
