Two new performing arts resources have been added to the Smith College Libraries’ collection: Drama Online and Jacob’s Pillow Dance Stream. Members of the Smith community can access both resources by using their Smith login credentials.

Drama Online is a growing resource of play texts and scholarly context and criticism alongside filmed live performances, film adaptations, and audio plays. The highlights include Royal Shakespeare Company and National Theatre performances, and BBC Dramas and Documentaries. This resource is part of a trial and will be available until May 31, 2020.

Jacob’s Pillow Dance Stream is an ever-growing collection of dance videos filmed at Jacob’s Pillow from the 1930s to today, plus new illustrated essays. Watch historic films of Denishawn Dance Company and Ted Shawn’s Men Dancers; recent performances by top national and international dance companies working in a range of movement styles including contemporary, ballet, tap, and traditional forms; in-depth interviews with artists and experts in the dance field; and more.
