Sam (they/them/theirs) is a circulation associate at Neilson Library. They provide support to the ~40 student employees working in public services and act as an assistant to the circulation coordinator. You can find Sam at the Central Service Point on Neilson's ground floor, shelving books and answering patrons' questions.

In addition to their library work, Sam is a potter, performing artist, and experimental musician living in the Pioneer Valley. As a percussionist they enjoy thinking about time, and see pottery as a bridge between internal, biological time and deep, geological time. Sam’s current work focuses on teaware for Chinese and Japanese tea service.

Sam has taught group and private lessons for undergraduate students (20th/21st Century Music, World Music History, Trigger: Electronic Percussion), and spent the last 6 years as a public school art and music teacher (K-8).
