Janet works with the staff at the Josten Performing Arts Library to make their collections, spaces, and services available, intelligible and inspiring to library users. She enjoys demystifying music searches and libraries in general. Ask her for help locating physical and virtual books, scores and audio/video in the Smith Five-College collections and beyond, as well as finding missing items, understanding loan policies and using Josten’s individual and group multimedia spaces. Contact her to propose a performance @ JostenLive! – informal salon-style performances on Josten’s inspiring Mezzanine and purple carpet. Occasional Fridays at 5 p.m.

A former middle school English teacher and classical DJ, Janet sings in the shape note tradition, reads mostly non-fiction, loves to swim, and is interested in forging connections between people, ideas, and words.
