Anna Helgeson
Visual Arts and Humanities Librarian
Anna (she/her) is a member of the Teaching, Learning and Research team, supporting Art, Classics, German and Italian, History, Landscape Studies, and Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies. Anna provides reference, instruction and supports collection development for these departments, and you can find her in the Hillyer Library.
Anna’s career in the arts began as a security guard at the Metropolitan Museum of Art twenty years ago, before deciding to get her Master’s in Library Science. She now has eighteen years experience in art libraries in New York City, including the Cloisters and Metropolitan Museum of Art, the School of Visual Arts and Christie’s auction house. She spent the last eight years at the Bard Graduate Center, a graduate program dedicated to material culture, decorative arts, design and anthropology.
In her spare time, Anna enjoys writing, kickboxing, and traveling.
