Anna (she/her) is a member of the Research & Teaching team, supporting Art, Classics, German and Italian, History, Landscape Studies, and Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies, and Museum Studies. Anna provides reference, instruction and collection development for these departments. You can find her in Hillyer Library, where she supports the zine collection, art displays from students and campus partners, and various crafting and making events.

Anna’s career in the arts began as a security guard at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, before deciding to get her Master’s in Library Science. She now has twenty years of experience in art libraries, in a variety of institutions, including the Cloisters and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the School of Visual Arts and Christie’s auction house. Prior to Smith, she was the Associate Director of the Library at Bard Graduate Center, a graduate program dedicated to material culture, decorative arts, design and anthropology.

Beyond Hillyer, Anna likes to spend time at the Mill River, rockhounding and finding artifacts from the Mill River flood of 1874.
