Hillyer Art Library

The Hillyer Art Library collections provide broad-based coverage of the history, theory, criticism, and practice of the visual arts to support the teaching, research, and art practices of Smith students, faculty, and staff. Drawing on a long tradition of active collection development, areas of notable strength are the art and architecture of the  Middle Ages and Renaissance, the ancient Mediterranean, East Asia, and South Asia. Hillyer Art Library’s special collections include significant holdings of manuscript facsimiles from a wide range of cultures and works by women artists’ book makers.
