Esther Roth-Katz has joined our team of teaching librarians as Social Science Instruction Librarian (a 12-month limited term position from September 2018 through August 2019). Esther will serve as the library’s teaching liaison to facultyand students in Anthropology, Economics, Education & Child Study, History, Sociology, and Study of Women & Gender. She works closely with faculty to develop and present research instruction to support academic departments in the social sciences and to provide reference and research support for students and faculty in those fields.
Esther has worked in college, community college, museum, and university libraries. She completed her undergraduate degree at Hampshire College (with course work at Smith), and holds a Master of Library Science (MLS) and MA in the History of Art, both from Indiana University Bloomington. In addition to her work as a librarian, Esther has acted as a tour guide in historic house and art museums. She recently returned to the Pioneer Valley after living on the West Coast, Midwest and East Coast in the interim.
