Rocco provides strategic leadership for science and engineering library services and programs, and works to ensure that faculty, students and staff have access to a suite of robust, effective and innovative library services and collections that serve their scholarship, teaching and learning needs. He also designs and provides reference, research and outreach to faculty, students, and staff in the sciences and engineering. In addition, he provides curriculum-based instruction and participates in the design, implementation and promotion of the Libraries’ information literacy program.
Prior to coming to Smith, Rocco headed the library for an international engineering company and worked for several years in other library positions where the focus was on science and technology. He is also a film buff, and has a deep interest in international cinema, especially, French film.
Collection Development Team
Rocco has a special interest in research data management and is currently working on a special project to develop a program to support Smith with an array of data management services.
