Alison is a brand-new addition to the Smith College Special Collections team. As the Social Media Content Intern, Alison uses various platforms to continue to increase the visibility of Smith's Special Collections to social media users near and far. Her goal is to use social media as a tool to highlight Smith's incredible and diverse Special Collections holdings while appealing to more potential patrons of said collections — particularly those who might not otherwise be familiar with the Special Collections holdings.
Alison is currently pursuing graduate studies at Simmons University (west campus), focusing on youth library services and children's literature. She is a recent transplant to Northampton, from the Baltimore/D.C. area, and can't get enough of the Pioneer Valley's natural beauty and culture. In her spare time she enjoys visiting New England's many incredible art museums with her partner, self-publishing art zines, reading Virago Modern Classics, and hanging out with her cat, Henri.
