We are excited to have Julia Callahan as the new Interim Access Services Evening Supervisor. Part of the Discovery, Access & Digital Engagement department, Julia is responsible for all aspects of Neilson Library services in the evenings including circulation, facilities and security, and supervising and supporting student assistants.
Prior to Smith, Julia worked as a metadata specialist at UMass Amherst and as a circulation assistant at the Hatfield Public Library. In a former life Julia worked primarily as a baker though she also tried her hand at affinage, farming, and being a full-time buddhist monk. Outside of her work at the library, Julia is a casual birder who collects small press comics and volunteers with a local Reproductive Justice and Access organization. She grew up in Eastern Massachusetts and spent many years living in New York City so she can often be found in one of these two places if not happily here at home, right in between.
Feel free to reach out to Julia at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 413-585-4164.
