Christie leads the Technical and Digital Services unit within Special Collections, a group of archivists, catalogers, metadata specialists, and technologists who ensure that the unique materials in the Mortimer Rare Book Collection, the College Archives, and the Sophia Smith Collection are discoverable, usable, and well cared for, regardless of their physical or digital formats.

Christie has worked in archives and special collections at the University of Michigan, Bates College, Princeton University, the Johns Hopkins University, and the George Washington University. She has worked in her current position at Smith since 2017.
